Delete your Conference Desk account

You can delete your account at any time, here or in the Conference Desk app (Settings → Delete my account). It is the same account for both. This page explains what happens.

What we delete

  • Your account and your sign-in.
  • Your profile: name, title, organisation, ORCID, dietary and access needs, and your contact preferences.
  • Your committee, reviewer and partner access, your devices for app notifications, and your notifications.
  • Draft abstracts you have not submitted, and visa letter requests.

What we have to keep

  • Payment records. If you paid or were invoiced, UK tax law (HMRC) requires us to keep invoices, payment references and VAT records for six years. Your name is replaced with "Deleted account" and nobody can sign in to the account again; the records are deleted when the six years are up.
  • Submitted abstracts. Abstracts you have sent to the committee stay with it, and with the programme if accepted, under the author list you gave. To take one out, withdraw it in the app or on the conference website before you delete your account.
  • Published work. Abstracts and papers already published in the programme or proceedings stay part of the scholarly record.

Deleting cannot be undone. Messages you sent through the contact form or the website chat are not linked to your account; to have them deleted too, email hello@conferencedesk.app. Read more in our privacy notice.
